36WinnerWATER WOUNDBy visualizing the two most important aspects of global water crisis , the shortage of fresh water resources & the sea-level rise, this project is aiming to stimulate people's sensitivity of the growing water "wound".
40Runner-upHILALThe main goal of hil?l is to create a public educational experience linked to water conservation. Circulation is choreographed with water on the site, so that the visitor experience natural filter systems such as rain-gardens, seals, wetlands, ECO concrete columns that provide oyster habitat, and a gravel infiltration parking lot.
208People's Choice AwardWaterCell ParkWaterCell Park comes as a regenerative intervention over one of Istanbul's most iconic neighbourhoods, the site being opened towards the sea, with a wide panoramic view towards two continents. The new proposal would offer an improved usage of space, with many benefits for the whole city through its water recycling features, and varied spaces to be explored.
106People's Choice AwardPURIFICATION PLAYGROUNDWater treatment facilities are often hidden from the public, but this design celebrates the ways we refine water for public use. Through the use of transparency, a symbiotic relationship between human interaction and water becomes tangible. Three modes of water are deployed--dynamic, passive, and active--to create a playscape for human/water interaction.
20Blob effectThe project philosophical approach to make the realize the over usage of water in the past and its consequence in present. This is done by making them to travel in a one way trip which passes through different experiential space and forms. The trip is on the site will be one way trip which unknowingly make user to through different stages without backing off.
176Cape in FlowWithin the historical context, the City of Istanbul has always been in an strong social and spatial relations with water that reflects itself in a 'flow'. Having objective to recode the concept of flow, 'Cape in Flow' comes up with new design strategies both for micro and macro scales to rediscover the potentials of the site as an active urban entity.
25The space of aqueousthis project creates a new role for water to increase the value of water and make people awareness and can inspire people to pass on promotion or conservation. Water consumption With values interpreted by other forms of water, water is more capable than consumption, use and hygiene. Therefore, we have the idea of using water to create art.
9rain.forestThe population of Istanbul is visually and physically separated from its fresh water resources. Urban landscapes and parks within the city can contribute to the harvesting of rainfall for re-use, where water hits the ground. Rain.forest demonstrates that a resilient and low water impact landscape can have cultural and ecological value, and is replicable.
1Waves of ReclamationThe project is an intervention within Istanbul Turkey that aims to recreate the site as a liquid landscape. This project does so by creating field conditions from flooding the site that behave in a theatrical and dynamic manner. The field conditions are created with different movements of water. Flooding of the site is controlled through pumps in the site.
5Between Water & TimeTime is a mirror and water is its reflection. Between Water & Time is a park that uses the history of the site that still resonates with its culture, unraveling water lines create an urban public landscape that confronts the epochs to come while celebrating the past, from scientific to mythological, the easily forgotten to that which never truly washes away.
3Wet/Dry ExploratoriumWater crisis - viewed as a looming problem of the future is brought to the forefront of the public's attention through an interactive exhibition. Upon arrival, visitors engage moments of wet and dry landscapes. By displaying the process of desalination and atmospheric water harvesting, the public is made aware of the need for intervention.
12Floating ArchipelagoThe Archipelago of the site is a hybridized Urban Public landscape that connects the community with water in different ways. Rain gardens that collect rain water and turns the area into a garden, an Aquarium that connects humans with Marine life, and an observation tower that is positioned to overlook the coast as well as purify/store the water for reuse.
5Istanbul Bathing PoolsReaching into the cultural heritage of the Turkish bath, the Istanbul bathing pools grasp the intimate motions of cleansing oneself and projects them into the public realm, turning a typically private moment into a shared activity. Though traditionally a wasteful process, this project operates using only sea water, showcasing alternative conservation methods
2Sarayburnu Seven Watersheds ParkThis park highlights the concept of a watershed by making visible the terrestrial drainage system and its interface with the city and sea. Layered networks of transportation, hydrology, visibility, and human culture that tie the site to the surrounding urban and natural environment, facilitate sensory contact with water, and gives the location prominence.
11bir damla su - a drop of waterBir Damla Su is a park about water. A tower in the form of a drop of water is surrounded by a corona on the ground such as is formed when a water drop hits the water below, forming a landscape of earthen ripples that are occupiable and experiential.Across the Bosporus strait the 9-meter tall Maiden Tower stands as a marker to the East.
10HAPTIC PARKHAPTIC PARK is a place to experience water by engaging all senses, building both physical and emotional connections between people and water to foster an appreciation for water's beauty and essential role in creating hospitable living environments.
22Connected VesselsThis project explores the idea of water systems connecting through a network of vessels. Water moves through the site in an open loop; it is collected and directed into a cleansing system on site which purifies it on one side and releases it on the other. Through this process the water maintains its equilibrium and provides a lively environment.
11LifespringLifespring is a recycled water loop system metaphorically express the life cycle of the tulip. All the Stormwater and street runoff are collected, filtered, and reused demonstratively after traveling through the site. The whole process is visible and full of water interaction opportunities.
4Dry WaterThis project aims to let the public be aware of the importance of water. Inspired by the sand on site, I decide to use sand as a metaphor, by mimicking the water by sand, leading visitors to a place where water is gradually replaced by drought. Thus the visitors may be aware of the significance and shortage of water when they walk through the project.
