Architecture as the Bridge to Nature

“Architecture as the Bridge to Nature” concept is meant to subtly integrate the building within the natural environment, respecting the wild beauty of the site.

Bathing is a core tradition of the human nature. We enter water with a heightened sense of ourselves and of our surroundings, where we may cleanse, heal, and engage. Though laced in a history of privacy and privilege, we now celebrate the bath as a luxury for all. The hjerta celebrates this evolution, while still respecting the sensory experience of bathing.

Design choices with "arc" combined with "square" building site framework, divided into multiple space size, improve the utilization rate of the site and at the same time has made is a small area on the visual and spatial structure, which at the same time have heterogeneity hope the grounds into a whole town landmarks, also is the epitome of culture, life.

Waterway

. Waterway" is an artificial stream, which flows into the river visually as well as another real streams. Buildings similar like iceberg or Icelandic craters volcanoes spread along the “waterway”. The different parts of the project have various functions such as a main swimming pool, massage rooms, sauna, etc.

“H150” is the potential new point of attraction in Iceland, a center for rethinking the culture of thermal baths and a way of obtaining a unique experience of interacting with hot springs.

In our project, we wanted to reflect on the passing of time in the 21st century and a human’s attitude to it, as well as to think about what kind of relationship we can build with it. These thoughts led us to the idea of creating places free of time—places where time does not seem to exist. Designing thermal resort complexes could help us do that.
