4B Tower by Ho Khue Architects: Innovative Sustainable Design for Education in Da Nang
4B Tower in Da Nang features sustainable educational design, open collaborative spaces, rooftop greenery, terracotta facades, and dynamic, modern learning environments.
Located in the vibrant heart of Da Nang, Vietnam, the 4B Tower, designed by Ho Khue Architects, is a striking example of modern educational architecture that seamlessly combines sustainability, green design, and innovative learning environments. Completed in 2023, this nine-story building with one basement spans 2,780 m² and functions as a Foreign Language Education Center, setting a new benchmark for dynamic, interactive educational spaces.

Harmonizing Architecture with Nature
The design of 4B Tower emphasizes a strong connection with the natural environment. By incorporating extensive greenery and sustainable energy strategies, the building maximizes natural light and ventilation while reducing energy consumption. The exterior features raw concrete finishes enhanced with a curving terracotta brick louver system, creating a visually striking facade that balances raw industrial textures with organic warmth. Both hanging and fixed planters punctuate the building’s exterior, reinforcing a youthful, environmentally conscious aesthetic.

Open, Interactive Learning Spaces
Central to 4B Tower’s design philosophy is connectivity and interaction. The open-space layout stretches from the ground floor to the fifth story, fostering engagement between teachers and students. Glass-partitioned classrooms minimize noise while maintaining an open, collaborative atmosphere. The integration of plant beds and greenery throughout the interior and exterior further enhances a refreshing, stimulating environment conducive to learning.

Rooftop Experience and Community Spaces
The building’s rooftop elevates the user experience, offering a swimming pool with panoramic views of the city. Adjacent walking paths lined with lush greenery evoke a countryside ambiance, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation, social interaction, and team-building activities. This thoughtful design emphasizes not just learning, but holistic student well-being and informal collaboration.

Interior Design and Materiality
Inside, the 4B Tower showcases a cohesive palette of raw and polished concrete, providing clean lines and a contemporary, dynamic feel. The combination of rustic materials and thoughtful spatial organization creates an environment that is both functional and inspiring, ideal for young learners pursuing international language studies.

A Vision for Modern Educational Architecture
4B Tower demonstrates how educational buildings can blend sustainability, design innovation, and user-centric spaces. By combining greenery, open layouts, and carefully curated materials, Ho Khue Architects have created a landmark in Da Nang that fosters proactive learning, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
