Containers home
Container city
About our project we can tell that the goal we are trying to reach is that the students of this place are comfortable in a space created especially for them, where they can feel safe being young workers who must spend long hours at the university but also need a place where they can rest, eat and continue working. The building has not only what is necessary to cover the basics, but also with different spaces where they can perform different activities such as a gym.
Our project, is a vision beyond seeking to be just a place where you can just sleep or waste time, rather, taking into account the strategically selected terrain, we can realize in detail that Canada is in fact, one of the places in those who invest more dedication to study and therefore, their students deserve the best conditions for it, for those who live independently, that is why our department system is located in an area quite close to the University of Toronto.
The purpose of this project involves installing students who wish to study outside their city or country. Similarly, providing accommodation, security, comfort, and proximity to the institution. The idea of studying in containers may sound awkward or unconventional, but it doesn't sound all that far-fetched. Before entering they can give a possible appearance that it will be a cold place in winter, or that it would transmit a lot of heat in summer, but in reality, the interior is the opposite since it is equipped with a and they have Wi-Fi connection to help students in their search for information and to be in contact with their families. Some rooms have balconies to have an impeccable view and have good ventilation as well as lighting. Also, the apartments have all the services and places to buy everything that is required within the kitchen pantry when needed in the dining room. Beyond that, there are parks to go out with your friends and they have a nearby library, apart from accessible public transport, which is located about 7 minutes from Lake Ontario.
The idea is obviously not only intended for local students, but also foreigners. When we refer to the exterior view of the complex, the purpose of making it look striking through the colors can easily be seen, apart from the fact that the simple fact of stacking containers would not be something so exciting to see if we did not add an extra material and more reasons why to turn to see the construction and that it provides the feeling of modernity and that in turn, does not lose relation with the rest of the urban space of the city, since it combines and does not clash, and of course not It is at odds with nature and green areas as the terrain itself offers ample space to make way for plantations, trees and provide the outdoor experience that is also necessary for young adults to help clear their minds.
Inside, the offer and options of rooms are quite free, since they are equipped with different things and not all are the same, they can have full bathrooms or others have more space to give priority to other needs, even so, all count with a study space, in which it has been sought to give it a correct natural lighting during the day, but nothing invasive at night, so that the hours of sleep will be of quality. The rooms are available to be personalized by their users, there are no strict restrictions on what is allowed or not, so they can spend as much time as necessary and even receive visitors, bring their friends and family, even if they not only have to spend time inside the rooms, if not also in the rest of the communal spaces. As long as the students feel confident in calling these containers a home or a comfortable place to live this important stage as the university, it will already be a profit and the objective will be achieved. Always seeking to be at the forefront and modernity of today's youth.
