Pratical House by Estúdio Zargos
Casa Prática by Estúdio Zargos blends modern residential design with nature, offering panoramic city views, pure materials, and harmonious indoor-outdoor living.
Harmonious Architecture in Nature
Casa Prática, designed by Estúdio Zargos, is a residence that embodies conciseness, cohesion, and coherence. Nestled at the end of a dead-end street in Belo Horizonte, surrounded by lush mountains and greenery, the house exemplifies modern residential architecture with a focus on simplicity, functionality, and integration with the landscape.

Thoughtful Site Integration
The project responds to an existing terrain with unique topography. The key challenge was to position a new house in dialogue with pre-existing cuts, props, and plateaus, designed initially for another project. The design thoughtfully navigates the sloped site, creating a seamless balance between the built environment and the natural setting.

Spatial Organization
The house unfolds across two floors, each with specific purposes:
- First Floor: Slightly elevated above neighboring buildings, it houses the main access, including stairs, a ramp, and a welcoming hall. A large patio functions as both parking and a multipurpose space, surrounded by expressive landscaping that connects the house to its surroundings.
- Second Floor: The core living spaces are located here, carefully arranged to maximize integration with the surrounding urban and natural landscape. Large terraces and balconies create a strong connection between interior spaces and the lush environment, offering a synesthetic experience that blends living with nature.

Views, Light, and Materiality
Perched high in a valley, Casa Prática offers panoramic views of the city below. The architecture emphasizes purity of materials, creating a simple yet powerful aesthetic. Natural light floods the interiors, while large windows and open spaces maintain a constant dialogue with the exterior landscape. The duality between urban and natural surroundings allows occupants to enjoy both city lights and the serene sounds of rustling leaves.

Experience of Living
This modern house design emphasizes tranquility, openness, and a harmonious connection to nature. From peaceful bedrooms embraced by greenery to balconies that frame city vistas, the home provides a contemplative, immersive residential experience. Casa Prática demonstrates how thoughtful design can seamlessly integrate urban living with natural beauty, creating an inspiring architectural landmark in Belo Horizonte.
