This contemporary residential masterplan reinterprets traditional Portuguese vernacular architecture through a clean, modern design language. The urban layout organizes modular residential blocks around a central circular public plaza paved in fine compacted gravel. Warm golden-yellow sedimentary sandstone defines the structural trims.

By enshrining collective memory, it fosters a dialogue between past legacies and future aspirations. Philosophically, it challenges our perceptions of temporality, emphasizing technology not as an end but as a means to connect more profoundly with the cosmos. The endeavor resonates with the essence of Heidegger’s 'Building Dwelling Thinking', suggesting architecture as a space where humanity and universe meet. In this monument, we are invited to reflect on our place in time and space, celebrating both our technological advancements and our timeless human spirit.
Wow, thanks for your comment, it is very profound. I had never thought of Heidegger's quote when working on this project, but his "Die Frage nach der Technik" has influenced me a lot, leading me to reflect on technology in this project as a cosmology rather than a being itself. This master’s thesis reinterprets the Shenzhen Opera House brief, reimagining it as an open civic landscape shaped by the concept of “Rain,” where Shenzhen’s subtropical climate becomes a spatial system that dissolves the boundary between architecture and public space.
What a remarkable project!!!Making rain the central design concept gives it a truly unique identity and beautifully strengthens the building`s connection ti its natural surroundings!
I find the use of the water elements in the design of the buildings and the landscape very unique and inspiring
The element of rain, by the seaside, especially continuing inside the building, is an amazing idea. Inspiration and creativity beyond the usual!

The thesis proposes adaptive reuse of Fort II Stülpnagel in Poznań for the Folk Dance Ensemble. It focuses on the occupied section of Fort II, introducing light intervention with partial courtyard cover to improve usability without harming heritage. It also includes facade restoration and site improvement, aiming to open it for public cultural use.

You can view all shortlisted entries on the competition page, and you can always check the current status of your own submission from your entries dashboard. The jury evaluation stage is now underway and runs through early September, with the final results scheduled for 7 September.
