0GOYNA GRAM: REVIVING AN ARTISAN COMMUNITYThe Bhakurta project aims to revive Goyna Gram's 300-year-old metal jewelry tradition, threatened by urbanization and modern alternatives. Through housing for artisans, a training center, and revitalizing a historic canal, it seeks to transform the village into a cultural tourist destination, blending tradition with modern appeal.

We wanted to bring back the usage of the vernacular architecture of the region while also expanding the capabilities of earth brick design and creating spaces for cultural traditions.

The landscape will both redirect flood water, preventing flood disaster and allow mining of the Kaolin soil to be more efficient and sustainable. Human beings will rediscover their relationship with nature over time.
