Bespoke Office Design: Transforming Spaces for Creativity and Collaboration
THISS Studio transformed a former warehouse into a vibrant office, coworking space, and recording studio for Common Knowledge, focusing on sustainability and functionality.
In the bustling heart of Shoreditch, London, a former warehouse on Leonard Street has undergone a remarkable transformation. What was once a traditional industrial space has now become a vibrant hub of creativity and collaboration, thanks to the visionary work of THISS Studio in partnership with Common Knowledge.

The Evolution of Workspace Design
Gone are the days of cookie-cutter office layouts. Today, companies are recognizing the value of bespoke office design in fostering innovation and productivity. The Common Knowledge Studio project exemplifies this shift, showcasing how a tailored approach to space can redefine the way we work.

Creating a Home Away From Home
One of the key objectives of the project was to challenge the norms of the music industry by creating a workspace that feels like a home away from home. THISS Studio embraced this challenge, infusing the space with warmth, functionality, and a sense of community.

Modular Solutions for Flexibility
A standout feature of the design is its modular nature. Recognizing the importance of adaptability in modern work environments, THISS Studio collaborated with Mitre and Mondays to develop demountable furniture pieces. These pieces not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also ensure that the space can evolve with the needs of Common Knowledge in the future.

Sustainability at the Core
In today's environmentally conscious world, sustainability is a crucial consideration in any design project. THISS Studio took this to heart, incorporating materials with strong acoustic qualities and a low environmental impact. From cork to locally sourced sycamore, every element was chosen with sustainability in mind.

Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future
The design pays homage to the building's industrial heritage while embracing a forward-thinking approach. Original features like exposed brick and timber have been carefully restored, creating a seamless blend of old and new.

A Holistic Approach to Workspace
The office is more than just a place to work—it's a holistic environment that caters to the diverse needs of its occupants. From open coworking spaces to private recording studios, every area is thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity and collaboration.

The Impact of Bespoke Design
The Common Knowledge Studio project is a testament to the power of bespoke office design in shaping the way we work. By prioritizing functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal, THISS Studio has created a space that not only meets the needs of today but also paves the way for the future of workspace design.

As we look ahead to the future of work, bespoke office design stands out as a game-changer. It's not just about creating beautiful spaces—it's about crafting environments that foster innovation, collaboration, and well-being. The Common Knowledge Studio project serves as a shining example of what's possible when creativity meets functionality in the world of architecture and design.
