Jardins House by Stemmer Rodrigues Arquitetura: A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Design

Jardins House, designed by Stemmer Rodrigues Arquitetura, is a stunning residential project located in Xangri-lá, Brazil. Spanning 407 m², this two-story house seamlessly blends landscape and architecture, reflecting the homeowner’s passion for nature. The integration of external and internal gardens forms a harmonious living space where vegetation, light, and structure converge effortlessly.

Design Concept and Spatial Organization

The concept of Jardins House is deeply rooted in the fusion of nature with architectural design. The entrance is marked by an external garden, which transitions into a semi-internal garden beneath the canopy, offering privacy to the hall, office, and powder room. A Cumaru wood pergola, covered with glass, guides visitors through two more gardens, creating a sensory experience where the natural environment introduces the interior spaces. These carefully curated gardens also serve a functional purpose, supplying fresh herbs and fruits that attract birds and delight the residents.

Structural Composition and Materiality

The construction features exposed concrete elements combined with wooden and glass components, giving the house a modern yet organic feel. The use of locally sourced materials and local labor emphasizes sustainability, aligning the project with eco-conscious principles. The architectural form is designed to optimize solar orientation, ensuring thermal comfort while reducing the need for artificial climate control.

Ground Floor: Seamless Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces

The ground floor revolves around the sunny verandas that extend from the spacious living area, where the kitchen, dining, and lounge seamlessly integrate. Large glass sliding doors open onto a patio that leads to a curved swimming pool, mirroring the lake beyond. The pool, with its organic shape, creates a tranquil water reflection that blends with the natural landscape. The master suite, positioned on the ground floor, enjoys direct access to the patio and pool, offering an oasis of privacy and relaxation.

Upper Floor: Privacy and Panoramic Views

The second floor houses additional suites that overlook the lake, ensuring privacy and autonomy for guests. An intimate lounge on this floor offers a cozy retreat while maintaining a connection with the natural surroundings.
