Innovative Building Design and LEED WEEL Standards

A key feature of the Segreen Business Park is its commitment to sustainability and environmental well-being. The former Microsoft headquarters was largely demolished and replaced with a structure featuring expansive green spaces, following LEED WEEL standards that focus on occupant health and comfort. The new office building comprises several distinct volumes, each defined by variations in height, cladding pitch, and color, creating visual diversity while maintaining a cohesive overall design.

Pedestrian-Friendly Layout and Green Roofs

The design prioritizes walkability and integration with the surrounding landscape. The office building functions as a "scenic terminal" for pedestrians, establishing a clear visual connection to the environment. The buildings are arranged to foster an ideal balance between open spaces and pedestrian routes, promoting interaction with nature. Green roofs on the lower buildings feature accessible hanging gardens, offering employees a peaceful retreat while enhancing the building’s environmental performance by improving air quality and reducing heat.

Material Selection and Seasonal Adaptation

The building’s materiality plays a crucial role in its relationship with nature. The façade, made of Alucobond Spectra, features a dynamic surface that changes color depending on the angle of observation and the natural light. This iridescent finish ensures the building continuously adapts to its surroundings, creating a constant dialogue between architecture and the changing seasons.
