We are Numuga — The New MUGA
Rethinking playground design
The first true Multi-Use-Games-Area, with 8+ different sports available in the same space at the same time. It’s a bespoke and innovative games area that attracts users of all ages and abilities. Numuga has endless amounts of games, keeping users happy and engaged whilst exercising.
Making sport more accessible
Educational and adventure playgrounds have progressed dramatically over the last 20 years, however sport & practice playgrounds have barely developed at all. We’re reinventing the MUGA cage. We want to make sport more accessible by removing the main barrier to play – the daunting and elite cage.
A gateway for beginners & a practice area for experienced players
Numuga allows for a more freestyle type of play, where kids can learn the basics of sport without necessarily taking part in match format. Learning how to pass, control, catch, throw and aim are key skills that can be transferred to multiple sports. Our spaces are a gateway into sport for beginners, as well as honing the skills of experienced players.
Modular system & white label colouring
Numuga is made up of a modular system also allows it to fit into any size or shape of space, with usability inside and outside of the zone. We also have the ability to ‘white label’ the design so it can be changed to suit the environment it sits in, whether it’s a sports club or university colours.
Traditional MUGA’s unengaging & limiting
Traditional MUGA’s are becoming more and more under used around the globe. Digital distractions and lack of game variety means that GenZ aren’t engaged by these spaces anymore. Also, for sport to succeed in parks and playgrounds you generally need five or more people involved. This is unachievable most of the time, leaving these spaces under utilised and dull.
Groups & individuals can benefit
Numuga allows for games to be played on your own or in 2s, 3s, 4s, 5+. Users can play inside and outside of the zone, with up to 40 people potentially occupying the space in the main visual (page 2). It’s a sport playground similar to a ‘skatepark’, where the user can flow from one piece of equipment to the next seamlessly. Also, Numuga lends itself to work well in the current COVID-19 pandemic, with multiple non-contact games available in the same space.
Future focused
Some Numuga pieces are interchangeable throughout the zone, allowing pieces to be flexible in positioning. Each piece will also be fitted with sensors to track the number of passes, throws and users within the zone. This data will then be harnessed and made
available to view for local councils, schools and sports clubs to see which exercises are most common. Bluetooth phone charging docks will also be installed within the seating.
Materials & safety
Numuga equipment is made from stainless steel, with some pieces being powdercoated to add the specific colour. The cavity is filled to reduce noise pollution. The flooring is made from synthetic astroturf for wet climates, however painted tarmac can also work in warmer destinations. All materials and manufacturing will be complaint with the local remits for public spaces.
Regionally bespoke
Numuga leads with the worlds most popular sport, football (soccer) with other sports added into the environment. This works for many European, Asian and South American countries, but the design would need adapting for USA to accommodate the most popular sports there – American Football, Basketball & Baseball.
Design protection
All our products have been designed and manufactured in the UK. We offer equipment with and without installation, delivering and installing worldwide. All Numuga products, layouts and configurations are design protected internationally.
Play on!
