1ASASE YAA VILLAGE - Earth Made Housing Competition Together, my group (Giovanni Montrel & Jaisha Victorian) and I chose 3 core values to drive our design. We wanted to bring back the usage of the vernacular architecture of the region while also expanding the capabilities of earth brick design and creating spaces for cultural traditions.

10Special MentionREINCARNATION OF RUINSThrough an architectural intervention, the project aims to understand and appreciate the history and qualities of the ruined mill and integrate these qualities into the atmosphere of the new space, binding the old and the new together and at the same time, retaining the character of the ruin.
2Rethinking rural school with sociocultural synthesUSUALLY, A SCHOOL OR A CLASSROOM HAS A ROW OF DESKS, A BLACKBOARD, AND A TEACHER IN THE FRONT OF THE CLASS GIVING LECTURES. THE CURRENT MODEL IS AT LEAST 300 YEARS OLD AND STILL, PEOPLE ARE FOLLOWING THE SAME. TEACHING METHODOLOGY HAS CHANGED AND CONSIDERING CHILDREN'S EDUCATION WE SHOULD GO BEYOND ERGONOMICS AND THINK OF ARCHITECTURE AS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL.
