About Discussions Projects53 Journals46 Publications4 Competitions4

Functional art explores the intersection where aesthetic vision and everyday utility converge. These projects demonstrate how artistic practice can be embedded into objects, spaces, and experiences that serve both conceptual and practical purposes.

The community examines art installations and spaces that activate public environments, adaptive reuse of industrial and leftover spaces for creative purposes, and architectural interventions that transform how communities engage with art and design.

The Interfusion

The most captivating conversations happen when everyone’s voice is heard. One of art’s goals to create conversations that share perspectives and cultures across borders. It helps us share the world through collective eyes. "The Interfusion" develops the relationship between art and the observer. "The Interfusion" interfuses the “street” with the “art”.

Art Gallery as a Public Space

The architectural design I present addresses the concepts of interaction in a public space to achieve dynamism by applying the principles of Kinetic architecture. By means of flexibility and efficiency, this expanded dynamic process can generate direct engagement between the users (artists and public) and the environment that they interact with.

PATCHWORK

While walking on the street, the masses reaching towards horizon consist of massive silhouette and color. It starts to show its surfaces as it gets closer. As we get closer and closer, it takes us in, begins to show its color and details. We touch, feel, and it is now fragmented. Patchwork discusses the distance between us and material, its perceptibility.

OPERA TRUCK--Endless Possibilities

Our design incorporates modern technology to meet the needs of modern society to promote the arts. Through Internet interaction, we can connect the public to artists to a greater extent. At the same time create a pop up space corresponding to our concept-----eliminate the distance between art and the public

Timeout

The Timeout is a 7-feet-high pavilion consisting of abstract components that resemble animals in motion that race into an endless swirling form. Together, they form a mass that is both static and dynamic. The forced dichotomy between the playful and the grotesque brings back childhood memories and surreal dreams.
