2Condensation parkI advocate the use of containers and simple steel frames to build a park-like residential community, completely removing the borders. The GF floor has almost no walls and borders, which makes it open like a park. The first to fourth floors are residential and the top floor is surrounded by a flyover. There is no sense of isolation when refugees live in them.
7enlightening the heritageThe project consists of a underground square, externally covered by a pure stone clad volume symbolzing a solemn monument. Approaching it, people live the space under the building, which is the real memorial. A space in the darkness broken by strong lights coming from the courts above where lights illuminate objects representing the losses brought by the war
2Honorable MentionAleppo: a Tangible HeritageThrough the complete removal of the Grand Serail, the re-programming of the Justice Palace, and the implementation of the Placemaking theory, the space at the foot of the citadel becomes a place of memorialization of heritage, of celebration and honor for the lost souls during the war, and a place for everyday rituals and activities to occur.
4Nature sprawlHistorically, human beings and nature were considered separately. In this project, human beings and nature are treated as equal. We live just in the same site but with difference of height. Human will be always concious about the nature and the habitats of nature will be protected as natural. Each function spreads as necessary, so the nature is kept forever.
5THE VALLEYThe purpose of the project is to provide Sahara inhabitants with a shelter that will make the living possible. It is why the core issue of the project is to move all human related functions underground, where the temperature is bearable enough to live.
