What was the concept behind the project?

our concept was two general philosophies, the first is about the gamer and the connection between him and two worlds which are the real world and the gaming world which is virtual and how he is the role, and he can control both worlds, in addition, we chose curves to present the behaviour and the mood of the gamer. the second idea is that the model looks like a game with LED lights to attract people and show that this building is for gaming since gamers like LED colourful lights.

•    What was the intent behind the organization of elements across various levels (Architectural, Site, Urban)?

we divided the model into three parts in the exterior and interior in the beginning, then we change it to be only in a plan to improve the exterior look, each part has a collection of functions that related to each other, we divided the right part to be offices and the middle part, which is the largest one to lobby, lounge, café, the last part was restaurant and service area that include staff lockers, storage, staff meal etc. in a general view, we divided the floors into three in the beginning but in the final, we kept it as two because of the height, the ground floor is for all the visitors from the surrounding offices, schools or families the first floor is for gaming only and the arena so the ground floor will be public with daylighting and the first floor private with less daylight or without it in the rooms to make it more comfortable for the players

•    How many iterations were tried to arrive at the outcome?

We faced many problems during the process of the project specially wile creating the 3D model in the software due to the complicated shape it was hard to know which program is the best to create the model as we imagined , in addition to the conflicts in the group work and the time management, we changed the whole shape but with the same concept and it was hard to apply the same functions with same positions plus , it was hard to convince the doctors about the concept , the issue in the first model was the height and the rooms because it will be useless and too small and second issue was the small curves between each part after we finished the first one it didn’t satisfy our concept and what we wish so we change to look better so we managed to replace the functions and everything went smooth but still we have some issued we solved it later for example we could not put doors and windows or curtain wall correctly due to the exterior shape and  it was hard to create the light and curtain glass strips in the roof , in the beginning we tried many programs for example Revit , SketchUp, rhino and we asked many people and watch YouTube videos to create the model.

•    What/How were the materials chosen?

We chose the materials depending on case studies that have similar exterior, for example, Zaha Hadid project (Heydar Aliyev Centre), we used steel for the structure with trusses and then cladding for the exterior which was Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (GFRP) were chosen as ideal cladding materials, as they allow for the powerful plasticity of the building’s design

Conclusion:

This project was the first time for us to create a complicated shape with a lot of challenges and a lot of pressure and time we feel happy and proud that we finished this project and learn many things especially the software and how to choose the concept after we create a whole model!
