New Cycle Art
Mirco House - Recycle - Artist
New York is a city that is quite avant-garde in culture, technology and economy. The culture of freedom and rebellion has also attracted quite a few elements of different cultures. As a result, many young artists or designers are attracted to New York to publish their work. But the reality is not friendly to them. Basic living conditions are not even available. This time we're going to create a temporary gallery for New York's high rents and environmental issues. Combining the lives and work of artists gives locals a better understanding of the situation they face.
“New Cycle Art” is located on Bowery Street in New York. The overall building structure is a modular residential unit combined with skettel construction. This can effectively satisfy the concepts of transience and high flexibility. The residential unit is used with the patio to make elevated areas of different features and atmosphere. The artist's work is placed in the area of the patio, providing a free and convenient area for people to have the opportunity to get close to the recycled art. The artist's work is placed in the area of the patio, providing a free and convenient area for people to have the opportunity to get close to the recycled art.
A large amount of recycled artworks combined with vertical greening are also used inside the building. Turn plants and flowers into a part of artwork. In addition to providing residents with better air quality, it also reduces the space cost of vertical greening. Therefore, you can clearly feel the simplicity of the recycled materials in the internal corridors, and enjoy the free and natural artistic atmosphere in the space.
High transparency in the living units breaks the impression of urban congestion and gloom. On the one hand, it provides higher quality of living, on the other hand, it also provides better viewing quality for exhibition space. The degree of openness of residential units can be determined by the occupants. As a result, the boundary between public and private areas has become flexible. Provide a high degree of flexibility for artists to open up their working and living spaces. With the change of time, the areas that can be visited in the building are no longer fixed. Therefore, when people walk inside the space, they can follow the light through the recycled artworks and plants and enter the artist's world. You can experience a different world every time when you visit. In addition to providing living space for artists, some residential units are also provided for Hostel use. Let visitors have the opportunity to experience the artist’s attitude towards life and understand their situation better.
The problem of recycling and garbage has always been an ineffective problem for New York and the United States. For example, the amount of agricultural waste in the United States increases exponentially every year, or New York produces about 840,000 tons of plastic waste each year, but the recycling rate is lower than average. Therefore, this time we hope to change the public's impression of recycling products. In addition to solving environmental problems in New York, it also gives garbage new value. A large amount of agricultural recycled materials are used in the residential units. Using agricultural waste from corn, wheat and other cash crops as the main material. The fiber of the plant is dried, pressurized and finally glued with mycelium. Finally, it is modularized into a 100cmX100cm box. The walls of the living units and part of the furniture will be assembled from fiberboard. Not only can it be recycled and reused, the residential units are therefore lighter.
And the entire building structure is composed of plastic fibers. Heat and press specific types of plastics and draw them into filaments. It is then wound into a cylindrical shape as an element in the building structure. Successfully transforming plastic into one of the indispensable materials in construction. Therefore, architectural building materials will also play an important role in recycling.
We also hope that the “New Cycle Art” will not only stay at the artistic level, but also enter the architecture and society. Finding answers to today’s problems in a limited space.Looking forward to bringing new residential and architectural forms to New York. Support this city in the future to move forward in the direction of "people" and "nature".Also create a more livable environment for the next generation.
