Bhurat Residence by Cadence Architects – Modern Urban Living in Bengaluru
Bhurat Residence by Cadence Architects in Bengaluru blends modern urban living, natural light, greenery, and sculptural design for functional, serene family spaces.
Located in the bustling city of Bengaluru, India, the Bhurat Residence by Cadence Architects (lead architects Smaran Mallesh, Narendra Pirgal, Vikram Rajashekar) redefines contemporary urban living. Covering 6,900 ft², this residential masterpiece is a thoughtful response to the needs of a modern nuclear family seeking openness, natural light, and a strong connection to greenery within a dense urban fabric. Completed in 2025, the project exemplifies how architecture can harmoniously balance sculptural form and functional living.

Facade and Exterior Design
The residence features a fluid, sculptural facade with elegant folds and curves, creating dynamic plays of depth and shadow. The facade integrates a suspended garden, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape. This green intervention enhances the microclimate, filters natural light, and brings intimate greenery into the home at multiple levels. Viewed from the street, it communicates warmth, domesticity, and environmental sensitivity, establishing the residence as a living, breathing organism.

Interior Planning and Spatial Fluidity
Inside, spaces are meticulously arranged to prioritize light, openness, and connectivity. A front deck carved from the main structure serves as a transitional zone between outdoor and indoor environments, ushering daylight deep into the interiors while providing a semi-open space for relaxation and social gatherings. Large openings and an indoor courtyard with double-height volumes ensure visual and spatial continuity across floors, creating seamless connections between living, dining, and private zones.

Materiality and Design Details
The home employs a controlled material palette to ensure warmth and a cohesive aesthetic. Ferrocement allows for a thin, sculptural facade, while in-situ terrazzo with marble inlay flows seamlessly from the indoor courtyard to the outdoor deck, connecting interior and exterior spaces. Carefully selected finishes, lighting, and textures further enhance the residence’s sense of serenity and refined elegance.

Sustainability and Environmental Considerations
Bhurat Residence integrates greenery and natural ventilation to improve sustainability and energy efficiency. By incorporating gardens and courtyards strategically throughout the design, the architects achieved passive cooling, natural lighting, and a visually dynamic environment that nurtures both well-being and environmental awareness.

Conclusion
The Bhurat Residence is a masterclass in contemporary residential architecture, where sculptural form meets functional living. Cadence Architects successfully create a home that is at once private yet connected, playful yet sophisticated, and deeply attuned to its urban context. This project embodies the future of modern urban homes, where design, nature, and family life coexist harmoniously.
