Boa Vista Eco Village - Dissolve

Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima, Brazil, is a city rich in cultural diversity and traditions. Our project aims to create a sustainable design that preserves and enhances the city's cultural activities. This space will serve as a hub for local artisans, musicians, dancers, and culinary experts, providing an environment where traditional crafts, food markets, music, and dance performances can flourish.

The design concept is centered around concrete topographic masses that create shaded, semi-enclosed spaces underneath. These structures function as gathering areas, market spaces, and performance venues, offering protection from the tropical climate while maintaining an open-air experience. The seamless integration of these topographic forms with the natural landscape ensures minimal environmental impact while maintaining harmony with the surroundings.

Above these topographic shapes that provide cultural spaces, a structural steel grid is present. This grid carries accommodation units. These units provide lodging for visitors, artists, and cultural practitioners, fostering an immersive experience that allows for deep engagement with local traditions. The lightweight structural system ensures minimal intervention with the landscape while maintaining flexibility in spatial organization.

The project ensures the sustainability of cultural heritage by creating spaces where traditional practices can thrive. Dedicated areas for workshops, performance stages, and cultural spaces facilitate the transmission of cultural knowledge to future generations. Additionally, by fostering interaction among different communities, the project strengthens Boa Vista’s cultural identity and keeps its rich heritage alive.
