BREATHING ISLAND
A breathing island, a microcosm of the Earth's elderly
This project is an abandoned oil drilling platform located 7KM from the sea in Ravenna, Italy. In the modern industrialized society, a large amount of natural resources are consumed and a large amount of waste is discharged, which has a bad impact on the Marine environment. Human activities such as agriculture and deforestation have reduced the amount of green space available, and industrial facilities have consumed life on Earth for centuries. Air quality and biodiversity are at risk. The RIGS are the epitome of the planet's old man, retiring like a decaying old man, with excess carbon dioxide hanging over them like a heavy yoke. Therefore, we plan to build a low-carbon ecological island to alleviate this situation, and the design choice is in the direction of green ecological protection and health.
We "moved" the forest to the sea, built a greenhouse with glass, and planted various kinds of plants here. The combination of steel and plants represents the collision between industrial society and ecological greening, with the soft lines of plants and the hardness of steel. At the same time, a large number of plants are conducting photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, making the adjacent island a "breathing" island.
We purify and utilize seawater to bring water nourishment to the life of the ecological island; And then on the basis of the design. A water circulation device is set in the museum area to extract water from the deep ocean, and the circulation waterfall device is realized through the steel frame structure on the exterior of the building. Therefore, the waterfall runs through the museum, which is far away from the deep sea, but the elements of the sea linger in it, creating a visual effect of the deep sea and the land complementary, although between the sea and the sky, but in the deep sea.
We use transparent steel frames to guide the entry of seabirds. It provides a habitat for them in the polluted Marine environment, adds a touch of vitality to the museum, increases the interaction b
