eLement: New Office Building for Prodea at Maroussi by RS Sparch
eLement in Maroussi by RS Sparch is a sustainable L-shaped office building, featuring concave concrete slabs, reflective ceilings, and landscaped plazas.
eLement is a contemporary office building designed for Prodea in Maroussi, Greece, by RS Sparch. Characterized by its unique L-shaped configuration, the building merges poetic architectural movement with sustainable design principles. Set across a challenging plot facing three streets and interrupted by an existing property, the design transforms constraints into opportunities for public engagement and natural integration.

Design Concept
The building’s name, eLement, derives from the L-shaped form that defines its structure. Its ethereal aesthetic is achieved through concave concrete slabs, sharp corners, and soft curves that create the illusion of movement across floors. The architecture emphasizes fluidity, transparency, and interaction with nature, blending geometric precision with organic forms.
To enhance visibility of the entrance located at the corner of the L, a significant portion of the ground floor was opened to create a diagonal passage, connecting the front and back of the site. This intervention forms a welcoming plaza and garden, highlighting landscape integration and the centrality of natural elements in the design.

Spatial Organization
eLement includes four above-ground office floors, a ground floor with public access, and a two-story underground parking facility. The central lobby facilitates flexible tenant occupancy, while the restaurant pavilion—enclosed in soft-curved glass and capped with a concrete canopy—anchors the diagonal passage, adding spatial drama. Reflective ceilings amplify the sense of verticality, while water features and planted roofs provide vibrant outdoor spaces for users.

Architectural Expression
The building’s movement is expressed in multiple dimensions:
- Physical: Projecting and receding concave slabs across floors.
- Environmental: Vertical aluminum louvers adjust to sunlight, while roof plants sway with the breeze.
- Phenomenal: Reflections on the passage’s ceiling and dynamic shadows create a poetic experience.

The use of high-quality materials—fair-faced concrete, anodized pierced aluminum louvers, semi-transparent glazing, and semi-glossy aluminum finishes—creates an elegant, modern atmosphere that aligns with LEED standards and sustainable office design.
