Flow house
House for music man.
The Musician’s House The main idea was to make sure that the space we are designing is well composed with music. A person who enters the interior must feel calm and be inspired. It has to be a space for the musician, so similar to the owner it has to be creative, imaginative and unpredictable. We wanted it to be easy to make music, record and perform. These are three different types of musical activities and require different type of spaces. We have divided our building into three floors to suit the function and purpose. On the ground floor we designed a living room, kitchen and the place for concerts. It is the most public part of the house. Here is the representative part of the building, our showcase, we can present result of our work, at the piano in front of friends or play together by the fireplace. In this place is the center of the house, a place to meet, play together, rest. We invite friends here, together with them we can relax and make music. On the upper level there is a music part of the house. The most creative area, this is where all the work is actually done from start to finish. There is a space to compose music, to rehearse with the whole band and a professional recording studio. Everything that a musicians need. An additional space is a huge terrace with a glazed winter garden. A perfect place to both relax and contemplate in any weather, it allows you to admire the surroundings. The top floor has two bedrooms with amazing views and a patio. This part of the house is the most private, where the musician can get away from everything. He can feel this extraordinary moment, get into the music, himself and his emotions. The top floor adds to the breathtaking view and is extremely inspiring for a composer. This type of zoning helps maintain privacy in a space that is also a workplace. We need to have easy access from one to the other, but still maintain separation between the two. Although music accompanies us at every moment and every single detail of the house has been designed to remind us of it, no one wants to live a life of work, even the most intriguing one. The second idea we had while creating this project was space. Therefore, the elongated shape parallel to the mountain ideally allows you to take advantage of the breathtaking view. The impression of interpenetration of two environments. We wanted the interior of the house to blend with the landscape outside the window. In order to achieve this, we used the spatial spaces combined with curtain walls and terraces. There is a beautiful view from every level. We took advantage of the steepness of the plot to emphasize it and enable access to the view from every place in the house. It is not very common to design a plot in such a beautiful location with a slope and lake. It was a new challenge for us and a field to show off our skills and creativity. Creation of the project required a lot of commitment, we started from making initial brainstorms, the form was designed itself, each element matched the previous one, but we had to think about all the details and it required dedication of many hours. We wanted to feel the music and unique atmosphere from each element when entering the interior. Everything was set to the last button and we are very proud of the final result. We hope that with time our project will still be as original and iconic as when it was created in our minds. Just like contemporary architecture, which despite its age still impresses with its simplicity and functionality. Its purpose, despite the reference to music, is mainly residential space, always universal and necessary. People who lives there must feel good in it to spend time there comfortably. A space like this is the perfect place for an artist, the magnificent scenery of the Swiss landscape combined with the elegant modern architecture creates a unique atmosphere. That is exactly the vibe we wanted to achieve.
