Journey to the inside and outside of a city
Reimagining a Bus Port with Tourist Centre
In India, road travel is a vital component of transportation. In rural areas, public road
transportation is widely utilized, and it is a topic of ongoing public discussion. Public
transportation infrastructure is continuously modernized to improve its planning and design
as time goes on. Aurangabad is one proposal like that. for the construction of interstate bus
terminal. According to need and timing, this thesis discusses public transportation issues.
In the book, transportation is primarily concerned with the transportation of people rather
than goods. With the aid of research on transportation, ranging from its historical roots to
its various forms worldwide, including its application in Maharashtra, India, and its impact
on tourism. What are the various varieties and how many of them there are? - levels of
connectivity among these four modes of transportation—road, rail, air, and water-based.
The analysis of the aforementioned issues leads to the conclusion that roads in our nation
have the greatest connectivity to all towns and villages. Therefore, the study’s foundation
supports the thesis topic’s intention to move forward with more in-depth research.
Live, national, and international case studies are referred to in order to support and examine
the specifics of bus stations, depots, and tourist centres. The Parel depot serves as a live case
study for bus depots, while the Vadodara bus terminal is examined as a case study at the
national level. The remaining three case studies cover international bus stations, with the
remaining two being referred to tourist centre.
The thesis intends to use one of the six bus stops that the government has proposed for
Maharashtra as the location for it. One of those six locations is Aurangabad (Ch. Sambhaji
Nagar), which is only considered a site location that supports the tourist centre point because
it is recognized as Maharashtra’s tourism capital. CIDCO Bus Stand is chosen as the study
site out of the two bus stands that are currently in the city, and the details of the study are
expanded upon in accordance.
This proposal integrates tourism facilities for visitors arriving by road, improving the current
public transportation infrastructure through an innovative take on a new paradigm. This
expected to increase tourism-related revenue in addition to the proposal for Bus Port.
