KinderGARDEN
creating strong relationship between kids and nature
Since the aim of the project is to create nature-centric design the first step of the process was to investigate and analyze the site.
The city of Gueret has a quite organic structure and is abundant in natural and architectural treasures. There are many urban examples of the coexistence of the architecture and nature.

FIRST CONCEPT SKETCHES
From the beginning I was set on a design with central part being the courtyard of some type. Due to the site’s triangular shape I searched for different solutions but still was drawn the most to the the third sketch.
DEFINIG FUNCTIONAL PROGRAM OF THE BUILDING
I established that needed spaces would be as follows: dining room, class for group lessons – botanic, science, art - playroom, small library, office, kitchen, toilets, indoor playground, additional places for kids' collaboration, changing room. Big courtyard/garden is an extension of the building.

FLEXABILITY
The floor plan combines angular shapes with organic structure. Open floor plan allows for future alterations and provides children with diverse and enjoyable spaces.
USING NATURAL MATERIALS
Since the project is centered around nature I chose natural building materials such as clay bricks, stone, pine and oak and walnut wood.
HOW WILL THE SPACE CHANGE
During winter months big garden can still serve as a playground where snowmen could come into existence and snowball battles may occur. Indoor plants would remain green due to constant warm and sunny conditions inside the building.
