M&C Saatchi Melbourne Office by Made For – A Bold Expression of Creative Identity
M&C Saatchi Melbourne Office by Made For blends creativity, geometry, and sustainability, creating an open, collaborative, brand-driven modern workspace.
Located in Richmond, Australia, the M&C Saatchi Melbourne Office designed by Made For redefines the modern workplace by blending creativity, functionality, and brand identity into a cohesive interior. Completed in 2023, the 850 m² office is more than a workspace – it is a physical embodiment of M&C Saatchi’s values of creativity, connection, and cultural impact.

A Workspace Tailored to Brand and People
M&C Saatchi, a global creative powerhouse, has always emphasized brand consistency and cultural resonance. The challenge for Made For was to translate this identity into a spatial experience that feels both bespoke and timeless. Executive Creative Director Emma Robbins summarizes it best: “Your workspace won’t feel like everyone else’s with Made For. It will feel bespoke to you, your culture, and the people that work for you.”
The design approach was grounded in M&C Saatchi’s brand philosophy—modern yet approachable, bold yet simple. The result is an open-plan office design that encourages collaboration, spontaneity, and connection, while remaining highly functional.

Grid-Led Geometry and Spatial Simplicity
The interior design embraces the brutal simplicity of geometry, expressed through a grid-driven layout. This foundation creates a structured environment while allowing playful insertions of color, materiality, and texture. A pared-back spatial approach ensures the office feels flexible, open, and adaptable.

Key Features:
- Minimal built form to encourage movement and serendipitous interactions.
- Natural light integration to enhance comfort and productivity.
- Material contrasts – from lustrous finishes to soft upholstery and bold-toned joinery.
- Di-chromatic window film for the boardroom, creating a floating visual element.
- Translucent corrugated sheeting framing murals, balancing transparency and enclosure.
The design maintains an almost boundary-free environment, reinforcing connectivity as the central theme.

Sustainable and Adaptive Choices
In line with sustainability and design restraint, the project retained many pre-existing conditions. Rather than discarding ceiling tiles, they were recycled and re-used in other fit-outs within the building. The ceiling grid was kept in place but reimagined with a muted green finish, a subtle gesture symbolizing restraint and balance—qualities essential in the creative industry.
Raw construction materials were selectively exposed, bringing an organic and tactile contrast to the otherwise sleek, tech-inspired aesthetic. This balance between raw authenticity and refined modernity reflects the spirit of the M&C Saatchi Melbourne team.
As Mitchell Jones, Creative Director at Made For, explains: “We wanted to nail this combination between really sleek and modern, balanced with pared back, raw elements – we felt like that captured the essence of what the M&C Saatchi Melbourne team were.”

A Future-Ready Creative Workspace
The M&C Saatchi Melbourne Office by Made For stands as a model of creative workplace design, where brand, people, and space merge seamlessly. It highlights how offices can be more than functional environments—they can serve as cultural landmarks that embody identity, inspire collaboration, and foster innovation.
