OCA Office Headquarters 03 by Oficina Conceito Arquitetura: A Compact Blend of Industrial Elegance and Functional Design
A compact, industrial-chic office blending wood, metal, and polycarbonate for functional, elegant workspace design in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
A Contemporary Architecture Studio in Porto Alegre
Designed by Oficina Conceito Arquitetura, the OCA Office Headquarters 03 is a refined workspace located in Porto Alegre, Brazil, occupying a compact footprint of just 39 square meters (420 ft²). Despite its limited area, the studio exemplifies how spatial efficiency, material contrast, and minimalist design principles can come together to craft an inspiring architectural workspace.

Interior Concept: Bridging Industrial and Classic Aesthetics
The new headquarters—positioned in the same building as OCA’s previous office—was conceived as a dynamic and hybrid environment that navigates between industrial rawness and classical sophistication. The design features a balanced palette that includes exposed concrete slabs, metal cladding, and steel lighting tracks, juxtaposed with the warmth of natural Tauari wood veneers and crisp white surfaces.
This duality enhances the spatial experience, offering a visually cohesive yet texturally rich atmosphere suitable for both focused work and client engagement.

Functional Zoning Within a Minimal Footprint
The interior layout is smartly divided into three key functional zones:
1. Entrance Hall and Wet Areas
A tunnel-like carpentry volume greets visitors, clad in natural Tauari veneer and concealing access to essential services such as a cloakroom, bathroom, and pantry. Subtle design touches—like the custom-carved wooden door handle engraved with the OCA initials—showcase attention to craft and brand identity.
2. Production and Work Zone
At the core of the office is the production sector, where founding architects work. Here, an organically shaped central table provides seating for three workstations. It is surrounded by a structural polycarbonate and joinery volume, which acts as a visual and acoustic buffer between zones. The translucent polycarbonate softly diffuses natural light, maintaining an open yet private workspace.
3. Client Presentation Area
Toward the far end of the studio, a comfortable client lounge area includes a sofa and rocking chair, creating a relaxed setting for project presentations. Adjacent to this area is a metal-clad carpentry niche, which serves both decorative and functional purposes—housing books, objects, and presentation materials.

Material Highlights and Compact Utilities
Every detail of the interior is carefully tailored for space optimization. The pantry—hidden behind Tauari-paneled doors—includes a shrimp-opening mechanism, allowing it to function as a discreet beverage station during meetings. The wet area countertops, carved from porcelain tiles, include integrated stainless steel drainage solutions, maximizing utility in minimal space.
The bathroom, part of the central wet core, mirrors the material theme with porcelain basins and clean-lined fixtures. This core is framed as a utility portico, blending into the overall composition while serving essential functions.

A Workspace That Embodies Brand Identity and Design Precision
OCA Office Headquarters 03 is more than just a workspace—it’s a physical expression of the studio’s architectural values. Through the interplay of materials, light, and layout, Oficina Conceito Arquitetura has crafted a compact yet impactful office that enhances daily workflows while impressing clients with its clarity and sophistication.
