Pawridge Pet Cafe by Studio Cereal Number – Yangju-si, South Korea
Pawridge Pet Cafe in Yangju-si blends wood interiors, cozy low furniture, and thoughtful design, connecting humans and pets harmoniously.
Designed by Studio Cereal Number and completed in 2025, Pawridge Pet Cafe is a 132 m² haven that redefines the experience of coffee and companionship. Located in Yangju-si, South Korea, this pet-friendly cafe is a thoughtful space where humans and their pets connect seamlessly. Photography by Kwon ByungGuk captures the cafe’s warm, wood-toned interiors and calming atmosphere.

The concept of Pawridge (Paw + Bridge) originates from the idea of a bridge that connects people, pets, and moments in time. The architects observed the subtle physical and emotional distances between humans and their pets—differences in height, gaze, and perception—and designed a space that carefully bridges this gap. Every detail encourages interaction without discomfort, fostering shared experiences and genuine connection.

The interior is designed from the pet’s perspective, with low furniture that meets animals at eye level, allowing humans and pets to coexist naturally. Soft, inviting materials enhance the feeling of togetherness, while tone-on-tone patchwork textiles provide warmth, comfort, and visual interest throughout the cafe. Each textile was carefully chosen to balance color, texture, and pattern, creating a harmonious environment for both pets and people.

A unified palette of wood, green tones, and verdigris accents defines the space. Verdigris-colored tiles wrap structural pillars, translucent FRP grating adds subtle texture behind the menu board, and the directional weave of patchwork fabrics adds depth and tactility. Though the materials vary, they flow in harmony, creating a spatial rhythm that reinforces the brand identity and the cafe’s welcoming character.

Pawridge Pet Cafe is more than a coffee shop—it’s a bridge for shared moments, where boundaries blur, gazes align, and people and pets experience the world together. It exemplifies innovative pet-friendly design, combining comfort, aesthetics, and functionality in a socially conscious environment.
