PROTEST DRAMA

On March 31, 2019, a large-scale social movement called Anti-Extradition broke out in Hong Kong. The impact of the movement in Hong Kong includes casualties, urban dysfunction, etc. Behaviors such as occupation and resistance have obviously exerted enormous invisible pressure on the city.

Events about human rights occur all over the world. However, due to geographical relations, and both Taiwan and Hong Kong are considered by China to be subordinate regimes, it is easy for people to project Taiwan's situation on the demonstrations and protests in Hong Kong. The younger generation in Taiwan thinks: "Everything that happens in Hong Kong can happen in Taiwan.""Today's Hong Kong, Tomorrow's Taiwan" has become a hot topic of discussion among Taiwanese recently.

In the foreseeable future, no matter which side is in power, China will still use one country, two systems to exert pressure. Under such a situation, there will be both external and internal pressures on Taiwan, which will lead to resistance. My position is how can we minimize the damage from this thing before the protests happen. And let the people express what they really want to say. As for the future of Taiwan, we have no control. But as an architecture student, we think we need to be concerned with the awareness of our time and space, including the spatial issues that are happening or will happen in our cities. To be critical of personal opinions, and to do something for the city with a positive attitude and the courage to speak up.

It is safe to say that the act of protest is design. During each protest, protesters design prototypes (such as accessories that prevent tear gas) and test them in real-world situations. So we tried to be on the side of the demonstrators and integrate a new language with the interface of the city. to accommodate urban functions and reinterpret them for "demonstration rebellion". In a sense, we can say that we are building a heterogeneous city for protesters. Heterogeneous cities have the same spaces as modern cities, but are used in completely different ways.

What we want to do is a holistic design. Suppose that in a few years time the new civic center of the Taichung city government in Taiwan will become an important protest site.

We will stand on the side of the protesters in the name of the municipal government additions. To simulate the appearance of the Occupation Movement in Taichung's New Civic Center and the different levels of coping methods.
