Farmers Market Proposal

Roeselare is a city in Belgium with a population of 63,763 known for the textile industry. In this project, we created a space where farmers can bring their local goods and sell them to customers directly while fostering a friendly community through a modular system.
The market sells various products including fruits and vegetables, meat, wine, cheese, baked goods, and a selection of jams.

The market is designed for locals, visitors, and farmers. It is arranged with a leaf life pattern where each leaf is dedicated to a certain product with a glass facade surrounding it to invite people walking by. The market has a cafe with kitchens, and seating areas to taste the delicious organic food collected on-site. They have additional spices planters so the client can smell the food they are about to taste and cook at home. The seating area is placed in different areas.
On the outside is a continuous view of the fields and the other on the core of the space (farmers and educate area, from farmers to citizens ) with wide tables to gather many people.

The exterior area has a field for farmers to cultivate their goods. Visitors and residents can learn from organic farming and see how their food is being collected. They can interact with farmers. The concept revolves around the B2B approach and brings the goods directly to the consumers. The goods are collected and able to be displayed in the kits which the consumers can then buy.
The food is stored in modular refrigeration systems as well as freezer.
During the day farmers can display their goods, the system is adapted for both fruits and vegetables as well as cheese and wine.
At the end of the day, they only need to lift the horizontal racks to store the food vertically during the night in the refrigerated system. This helps to make the job of the farmer easier and allows them to preserve food overnight. With such an efficient system the market can be owned throughout the week instead of just 1 day a week.

The farmers market can be adapted to the stakeholder's needs to hold in the beautiful large space and kitchens to cater food. The refrigerators storing the food can be hidden by sliding a curtain on the facades to allow other events to take place. The beautiful large space is convertible to hosting parties and weddings as well as conference on urban farming and organic food.

This space works in harmony with farmers and the mission to address the rising demand for good food as well as provide affordable and sustainable and locally grown produced.
