Art has always been with humankind from the dawn. In each period, artists created art with the conditions and facilities available at that time. From different periods until now, we have witnessed artistic movements such as impressionism, cubism, fauvism, pop art, surrealism, etc. As the name implies, each of these artistic movements had specific characteristics that distinguished it from others. By studying any country's historical and cultural background, its artistic aspects and types can be identified and used in the design.

Croatia was an important center for art and architecture in Southeast Europe in the early Middle Ages. The Croatian interlace or Croatian wattle, known as the pleter or troplet in Croatian, is a type of interlace, most characteristic for its three-ribbon pattern. It is one of the most often used patterns of pre-romanesque Croatian art. It is found on and within churches as well as monasteries built in early medieval Kingdom of Croatia between the 9th and beginning of the 12th century. The ornamental strings were sometimes grouped together with animal and herbal figures.

Due to the location of the site and project, which is located in rich nature, respect for nature and the use of organic materials and forms have been the purposes of this project. Therefore, the designed structure utilized for the stability of the cottages in height is inspired by the shape of the tree, and the wood material, which is a native material of the region and is well compatible with the bed and the environment of the site, has been used. The type of wood used in this structure is bamboo wood, which is a suitable option for this project due to its high tensile and compressive strength.

The initial concept of this project is inspired by the geometry and form of Croatian Interlace, and rotational forms are used.

Due to the topography of the site and the maximum use of the sea view to the user, in the user interior section of the site, the user line of sight to the sea is entirely open, and no disturbing factor has blocked the user's view at the entrance to the site.

After placing the main volumes on the site, areas for the establishment of cottages were defined according to the topography and the main entrance, in which the cottages are divided into two, three, four, and six divisions on the west front to the sea and the south front of the adjacent river route.

The cottages' location at the height of 4 meters above the ground not only does not block the user's view on the site and inside the building but also occupies the lowest area of the site. Moreover, it creates a good place for artists to sit, be creative and produce art due to its protection from disturbing light and possible rains. The cottages' location at an altitude above the ground provides the artists with the advantage of using pristine nature and the surrounding natural landscapes. It also provides a cozy and calm environment for creating art and inspiration from nature.

The project is designed for the housing and productivity of thirty artists: a total of thirty cottages, half of which are twins and the other half are individuals.

There is a social space in the central part of the site, from which the entrances of the building are. The land uses are divided into three volumes; the upper volume consists of the concert hall on the ground floor and the amphitheater on the lower floor. The low volume includes workshops and restaurants on the ground floor, a multifunctional meeting hall, and a gallery on the lower floor.
