A Home Designed for Solitude and Gathering

The apartment was conceived as a personal retreat, while also accommodating visits from family and children. The design team, led by Luiza Pini, focused on crafting an interior that balances privacy with social adaptability. Organic elements like freijó wood, linen and cotton fabrics, and woven rugs infuse warmth, softness, and tactile richness into the space, setting a neutral tone that welcomes evolving personal narratives.

Living Room: A Curated Blend of Texture and Light

The living room is the focal point of the project, with an emphasis on texture, depth, and ambient light. A negative curved slatted panel in white lacquer, slightly detached from the ceiling, introduces gentle lighting and textural shadow play—reminiscent of wind-swept sand. This is carefully juxtaposed with a positive freijó wood panel, which begins at the entrance hall and continues into the kitchen, creating spatial continuity and material unity.

Kitchen and Dining: Fluidity and Functionality

The kitchen, seamlessly integrated into the open-plan layout, is designed for versatility and practical use. A sliding wooden panel, matching the entrance hall finish, allows the space to be closed off or revealed as needed. This adaptable element enables residents to transition between private cooking and entertaining guests, maintaining both cohesion and flexibility in the social zone.

The adjacent dining area, enriched with natural daylight and refined material choices, acts as a soft visual transition from the kitchen to the living room.

Bedroom and Closet: Intimacy Through Texture

In the most private areas of the home, attention to materiality continues. The closet is wrapped in dyed natural straw, enriching the space with a rustic, handcrafted appeal. Meanwhile, muted tones and calm textures create a serene backdrop for the introduction of personal items, artwork, and decorative objects that evolve over time.
