Located in Yongin-si, South Korea, this house beautifully utilizes the structural and material properties of heavy timber to create a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally efficient. With an area of 105 m², the house was completed in 2021, showcasing the architectural prowess of lead architects Myung Ho Lee and Eui Jin Park.

Situated in a residential area known as Hyangrin Hill, Dong Baek Wooden House enjoys a unique stepped view and open southern exposure. The natural green surroundings significantly influenced the design, resulting in a home that integrates seamlessly with its environment. Despite the expansive land, the floor area had to be carefully planned to meet the owner's needs while respecting the site's natural constraints.

Architectural Design and Materials

Akoya Wood, known for its resistance to weather and insects, was chosen as the primary finishing material for both the interior and exterior.
