Nestled in the countryside landscape of Fazenda Boa Vista in Porto Feliz, Brazil, the AP House by architect Patricia Bergantin is a residential project that redefines the relationship between architecture, nature, and well-being. Completed in 2019 with a generous built area of 1620 m², the house integrates contemporary design, rustic materials, and sustainable solutions to create a unique living experience.

Integration with Nature

From the outset, Casa AP was designed to establish a seamless dialogue with its surroundings. The house sits on sloping terrain, where the straight and minimal lines of the architecture contrast with the softness of the countryside, framing panoramic views of the landscape. Its L-shaped configuration directs openings inward, ensuring both privacy and openness while enhancing the connection to nature.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and wooden slat frames in a graphic brise-soleil pattern allow the home to breathe, filtering light, framing views, and ensuring cross-ventilation. A zenithal skylight draws natural sunlight into the heart of the home, illuminating the central staircase and reinforcing the idea of natural immersion.

Spatial Organization

The first floor houses six private suites arranged around a spacious hall, offering residents privacy while maintaining visual connections with the landscape. On the ground floor, expansive common spaces unfold with double-height ceilings that emphasize openness and fluidity.

The living areas extend seamlessly outdoors, merging into gourmet kitchens, terraces, a swimming pool, and a garden. An external fireplace and leisure terrace further enhance the house as a space for gathering, relaxation, and contemplation in direct connection with nature.

Materiality and Interior Design

The interior design follows a philosophy of rustic elegance and natural warmth. A material palette of wood, concrete, and marble creates a balance between raw authenticity and timeless sophistication.

  • Wood adds warmth and tactile comfort.
  • Concrete offers lightness in form while grounding the structure.
  • Marble introduces an element of permanence, evoking history and the passage of time.

Natural tones, organic layouts, and flexible partitions allow residents to adapt spaces to their lifestyle, making the home a living, evolving environment.

By combining modern architecture, natural materials, and spatial fluidity, Patricia Bergantin has created a project that celebrates the landscape while offering comfort, privacy, and connection. The house embodies the idea of dwelling as an immersive experience, where architecture becomes a medium for coexistence, contemplation, and harmony with nature.
