Beach House Architecture: House Pôr by Studio Carlito e Renata Pascucci
An exploration of House Pôr by Studio Carlito e Renata Pascucci, highlighting its innovative beach house architecture in São Sebastião, Brazil.
House Pôr, designed by Studio Carlito e Renata Pascucci, is a stunning example of beach house architecture that harmoniously blends contemporary design with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Located in São Sebastião, Brazil, this 150 m² house, completed in 2022, serves as a personal refuge for the architects and a rental space that offers an immersive sensory experience.

Project Overview
House Pôr stands as a testament to innovative beach house architecture. The house is perfectly positioned between the mountains and the sea, providing breathtaking views of Toque-Toque Grande Beach and the encompassing Atlantic Forest. Designed to meet the needs of a couple, the house combines practicality with aesthetic appeal, making it an ideal retreat and a unique rental property.

Architectural Concept
Embracing Nature
The design of House Pôr embraces the surrounding natural landscape, allowing residents to feel a deep connection with nature. Large windows frame the stunning views, and the house's orientation maximizes the experience of the sunrise and sunset. The infinity pool, perched over 60 meters above sea level, appears suspended among the treetops, enhancing the house's immersive connection with its environment.

Practical Layout
The house's layout is both compact and functional, designed to cater to the lifestyle of a couple. The ground floor features an entrance hall, an integrated kitchen and living room with a fireplace, a laundry room, a toilet, a barbecue area, a deck, and a pool. These interconnected spaces promote interaction and relaxation. The upper floor houses a generous suite with a closet and access to a solarium, which hosts solar panels and a water tank.

Design and Materials
Contemporary Aesthetics
House Pôr showcases contemporary beach house architecture with its straight lines and extensive use of natural materials. The design incorporates stone, wood, steel, and cement to create a cohesive and modern aesthetic. A neutral color palette is punctuated by bold red accents on the staircase wall and kitchen joinery, adding vibrancy to the space.

Custom Furniture and Artistic Touches
The interior features custom-designed furniture by the architects, including a freijó wood slat in the laundry room, a dining table made from demolition peroba wood, and a "Tetris" shelf in the hall. The barbecue area boasts a "boteco" style slatted table, and the suite includes a custom bed and bedside tables. The house also includes designer pieces such as Jean Gillon’s jangada armchair and stools from Fernando Jaeger, contributing to the unique and artistic ambiance of the home.

Sensory Experience
Immersive Environment
House Pôr is designed to provide a complete sensory experience. The sound of the ocean, the scent of the surrounding forest, and the visual beauty of the landscape all contribute to a profound sense of relaxation and connection with nature. The design allows for natural ventilation and lighting, enhancing the comfort and sustainability of the house.

Artistic Integration
The house is adorned with various artistic elements, including graffiti by Ricardo AKN on the staircase, serigraphs above the headboard from Estúdio Moa, and an oil painting on canvas titled "Dinosaur Head" by Diego Limberti. These artistic touches reflect the local culture and add depth to the home's character.

House Pôr by Studio Carlito e Renata Pascucci exemplifies the potential of beach house architecture to create a harmonious and immersive living experience. By integrating contemporary design with natural materials and artistic elements, the house offers a unique retreat that celebrates the beauty of its coastal surroundings. This project sets a benchmark for future beach house designs, showcasing how modern architecture can enhance and complement the natural environment.
