Distinctive C-Shaped Architecture

The defining feature of the C House is its iconic C-shaped layout, which not only inspired its name but also shapes the spatial experience. The home is composed of five distinct functional zones. At its core, a raised kitchen offers panoramic views of the lush forest on both sides, acting as the central gathering point. The two ends of the "C" contain elevated bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, while the ground level between them hosts a cozy dining area and an intimate sitting room.

This clever spatial arrangement balances communal living with privacy, enabling residents to enjoy time together or retreat to separate spaces in this compact yet spacious home.

Sustainable Materials and Natural Integration

The exterior facade of the house is clad with Corten steel, which over time develops a rich, warm red patina, blending beautifully with the natural woodland environment. The window sills and much of the interior finishing use Fraké wood, a thermally modified hardwood known for its durability and inviting texture.

Surrounding the home is an unheated natural swimming pool featuring a 12-meter swimming lane. This eco-friendly pool uses a helophyte filter with lava stones and yellow irises to purify the water naturally, reflecting GetAway Projects' commitment to sustainability.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a hexagonal inner garden creates an inviting outdoor bar area with fully opening windows, seamlessly merging indoor and outdoor living. A raised wooden deck next to the pool further enhances this connection with nature.

Compact Yet Spacious Design Within Forest Setting

Situated on a private 5,500 m² forest plot that extends into the larger woodland, the C House provides a sheltered yet open atmosphere. The design prioritizes privacy and comfort within a modest footprint, adhering to strict local building codes limiting height to 3 meters and size to 100 m².

Measuring only 3 meters wide and stretching 35 meters in length at its longest point, the house impresses with a sense of spaciousness thanks to its open-plan layout and multi-level structure. Bedrooms can be closed off with sliding doors to ensure flexibility between open living and private retreats.

High-Performance Steel Frame Construction

Constructed with a steel frame, the C House features walls and roofs made of insulated sandwich panels—two steel layers enclosing an insulating core—providing excellent thermal performance. The exterior's Corten steel sheets create a durable, weather-resistant envelope that requires minimal maintenance while harmonizing with the woodland palette.
