Camboriú House by Terra e Tuma Arquitetos Associados: A Modern Residential Gem in São Paulo
Camboriú House by Terra e Tuma Arquitetos integrates hillside terrain, panoramic São Paulo views, indoor-outdoor living, privacy, and flexible modern residential design.
Camboriú House, designed by Terra e Tuma Arquitetos Associados, is a striking modern residence that seamlessly integrates with its steep, 12-meter elevated terrain and the surrounding urban landscape. Situated next to a tree-lined square, the home leverages its unique topography to offer panoramic city views while maintaining privacy and comfort for its residents. This single-family residence exemplifies contemporary Brazilian residential architecture with its focus on openness, natural light, and functional spatial design.

Architectural Concept
The design of Camboriú House revolves around connectivity and flow, both vertically and horizontally. The house features two independent and complementary accesses:
- The main entrance is located at the upper level of the lot, accessed via a viewpoint square, offering sweeping vistas of São Paulo and the distant Serra da Cantareira.
- The lower entrance provides direct access to a multi-use space, creating flexibility and independence within the property.
This approach allows the home to engage with the terrain while maximizing usability and aesthetic appeal.

Social and Living Spaces
Descending one level from the main entrance, residents and guests encounter a generous patio with a pool, seamlessly connected to a social area designed for comfort and interaction. The living room, kitchen, balcony, and patio are interconnected, creating a continuous indoor-outdoor flow that emphasizes natural light and landscape integration.
This layout highlights modern interior design principles, balancing openness and functionality while creating spaces for social gatherings, relaxation, and family interaction.

Private Areas
The lower level of Camboriú House houses the private living quarters. Three thoughtfully arranged bedrooms prioritize privacy, acoustic comfort, and natural ventilation, ensuring a serene retreat for residents. The design of this level emphasizes intimacy and tranquility, away from the bustling social spaces.

Multi-Use and Flexibility
At the lowest point of the property, a multi-functional space with independent access offers versatility for future use, whether as a studio, guest suite, or home office. This design strategy allows the home to adapt over time, reflecting contemporary architectural trends that prioritize flexibility and sustainability in urban residences.

Materiality and Aesthetic
Camboriú House employs a modern palette of concrete, glass, and wood, balancing raw textures with refined finishes. Large glass openings and open terraces connect the interior with the natural surroundings, reinforcing the relationship between architecture and landscape.
Camboriú House stands as a testament to innovative residential design in São Paulo, blending modern aesthetics, landscape integration, and functional planning. Terra e Tuma Arquitetos Associados have crafted a home that is at once versatile, welcoming, and contextually sensitive, demonstrating the possibilities of contemporary Brazilian architecture.
