Casa La Dinda by Alexandre Chaguri Arquitetura
Casa La Dinda blends natural materials, forest views, and sustainable design in a U-shaped, single-story layout near São Paulo
Casa La Dinda, designed by Alexandre Chaguri Arquitetura, is a 1,200-square-meter single-story residence nestled in the countryside of Itu, São Paulo, seamlessly facing a preserved forest. Crafted in close collaboration with the client—who was deeply involved in every phase of design and construction—the home is grounded in a deep connection to the surrounding landscape and a personalized architectural vision.

Landscape-Oriented Design and Ground Integration
Set slightly below the natural terrain, the house offers enhanced privacy while framing unobstructed panoramic views above the treetops. Upon entry, the bold volumetric facade architecture opens into a sprawling living space, where the landscape is experienced like a living painting—an immersive visual extension of the home.

U-Shaped Layout with Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow
The house adopts a U-shaped layout that embraces a central leisure area, connecting all social and private zones. Inspired by the arid palette of Uruguay’s Atacama region, the interior features a sophisticated blend of natural materials, including wood, moledo stone, and monochromatic joinery. Two winter gardens divide the social and intimate spaces, allowing nature to permeate every corner of the house.

Sculpted Interiors with Subtle Luxury
The open-plan kitchen features a polished natural stone countertop paired with tone-on-tone gray cabinetry. Elements like black recessed baseboards, elegant brise-soleils in the dining area, and a custom gourmet island foster unity between functionality and design. A home theater and expansive spacious bathroom block are integrated into the main social area, offering moments of retreat and entertainment.

Sustainable Living with Architectural Elegance
Emphasizing sustainability, Casa La Dinda incorporates photovoltaic energy, reused water irrigation, and central air conditioning for year-round comfort. The infinity pool—framed by an aged wood deck—and a dramatic metal-and-glass pergola further harmonize architecture and landscape. Each of the seven suites, complete with walk-in closets and dual bathrooms, opens onto a view of treetops and shaded balconies lined with built-in benches.
