F&V House by Archiplanstudio: A Modern Renovation of a Historic Farmhouse
F&V House by Archiplanstudio combines modern design with historic elements, offering a sustainable, aesthetically refined living experience in Florence.
Located in the picturesque Bagno a Ripoli, Italy, the F&V House project, designed by Archiplanstudio, masterfully blends modern design with the history and simplicity of its surroundings. The 300 m² residence, completed in 2023, is nestled in a spacious garden with stunning views of Florence.

Concept and Design: Merging History with Contemporary Elegance
The primary goal of this project was to revitalize a historic farmhouse, while maintaining its core architectural elements—volumes and simple geometries. The design aims to respect the building’s history while introducing contemporary materials and spatial layouts that enhance the living experience.

Materials and Aesthetic: Sensual and Abstract Touches
The use of refined, sensual, and abstract materials brings out the building's simple yet spiritual character. Each material choice plays a pivotal role in enhancing the home’s ambiance, making it both a cozy and sophisticated space.

Interior Spaces: Thoughtful Furnishings and Layouts
The interior spaces are characterized by carefully selected furnishings that are in harmony with the architectural integrity of the building. Each element is purposefully chosen to complement the space’s unique features while respecting the spirit of the place. The living room, dining room, and other areas are designed with attention to comfort and functionality, creating a seamless connection between the interior and the natural surroundings.

Sustainable Design and Preservation: A Nod to Tradition
While the F&V House incorporates modern touches, the preservation of traditional design elements is a cornerstone of the renovation. The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient solutions ensures the house remains environmentally responsible while maintaining its timeless charm.

A Harmonious Living Experience
The F&V House is a perfect example of how architecture can respect tradition while embracing modernity. Through a thoughtful design process, Archiplanstudio has created a home that offers both aesthetic beauty and functionality, all while staying deeply connected to its historical context.
