International Architecture Design Awards for Residential buildings
Habitat ‘20 - Result Story
Background
With the basic understanding of how architecture, as both an art and a science, relates to the wider culture, where design aesthetics and functionality come together to define and channel experiences and quality of life, residential architecture serves to be a tangible solution to questions of habitation and community.
Starting from the ground up, residential architecture is most people’s first interaction with carefully designed spaces and is arguably the most personal one.
Additionally, even in times of drastically changing dimensions of human settlements, residential architecture has remained to be one of the most malleable of typologies, being able to evolve into a solution for everything ranging from accessibility, affordability, and sustainability.
Focusing on the most basic of frameworks (typologies) of built spaces, UNI introduces Architecture (A- Z).
Challenge
‘H for Habitat’ aimed to bring together global design talents that explored one of our most primary needs as a population.
This challenge invited entries of residences that ranged from modular to compact to sprawling to highrise, this theme aimed to recognize spaces that have evolved with the utmost understanding of its user groups, program, adaptability, and environmental responsibility.
