House F by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects: A Seamless Integration with Nature
House F blends timber architecture with nature, featuring intersecting roofs, open-plan living, panoramic glazing, and a dynamic wooden façade.
A Contemporary Home Rooted in Its Landscape
Nestled within Slovenia’s rolling hills, House F by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. Designed as an extension of an existing architectural ensemble, the structure adopts a dynamic configuration, featuring intersecting saddle roofs and open-angled geometries that respond to the site’s unique character.
From the street, the house presents a closed façade, ensuring privacy and a minimalist aesthetic. In contrast, the interior is bathed in natural light, thanks to expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing that frames panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The open-plan living and dining areas create a fluid connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, reinforcing a harmonious spatial experience.

Blending Architecture with Nature
A multi-level terrace extends from the main living spaces, offering a partially sheltered outdoor area that enhances the home’s indoor-outdoor flow. Each room is strategically positioned to maximize visual connections with nature, fostering a sense of openness and tranquility.
Inside, the architectural impact of the intersecting roof planes becomes evident, shaping a spatially dynamic environment. The restrained material palette—white walls and polished screed flooring—accentuates the home’s geometric precision, allowing light and shadow to play across its surfaces.
The exterior showcases an innovative timber lamella façade, which wraps around the structure, including the saddle roof. The varying depth of the wooden slats creates a three-dimensional texture, giving the house a sculptural quality that shifts with changing perspectives.

A Testament to Contemporary Sustainable Design
Beyond aesthetics, House F embodies a commitment to sustainable architecture, utilizing a timber frame construction that enhances energy efficiency while embracing natural materials. The carefully curated design choices not only reduce the home’s environmental footprint but also reinforce its deep connection to the surrounding landscape.
