Nestled in the serene landscapes of Ibarlucea, Argentina, IB House by Estudio Ferrazini is a masterful exploration of materiality, light, and spatial harmony. Designed as an experimental project, the home combines metal “W” beams with concrete bricks, achieving a delicate balance between rustic textures and architectural precision. The result is a structure that feels both grounded and refined, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings.

The house features a versatile open space of 55 m² beneath the main structure, offering shaded respite next to the swimming pool. This area is fluid, boundary-free, yet thoughtfully contained, inviting both relaxation and social gatherings. The “transparent” balcony enhances this experience by filtering natural light, creating a warm ambiance ideal for winter barbecues and outdoor leisure.

Inside, the residence prioritizes openness and luminosity. There are no interior walls, with spatial divisions defined by furniture placement. This layout emphasizes a strong visual and spatial connection between the treetops outside and the interior of the main living area. The architectural journey through the house is carefully orchestrated—from private, enclosed areas to more open, communal spaces—highlighting both privacy and permeability in a single harmonious design.

Though IB House presents itself as a precise architectural object, it never dominates the living experience. Each space maintains individual identity while contributing to the cohesive whole, creating a home that celebrates both modern design and natural integration.
