A Refined Blend of Movement, Lightness, and Functionality

Situated in the bustling commercial core of Londrina, Brazil, the Isabela Pagnan Atelier by APB Oficina de Projetos is a striking example of how minimalism, fluid geometry, and strategic lighting can transform a compact 38-square-meter retail space into an immersive and inspiring environment. Designed by lead architect Ana Paula Brunetto, the project explores the delicate balance between architectural elegance and commercial functionality—tailored specifically for a contemporary fashion atelier.

Spatial Strategy and Interior Design

The spatial planning focuses on maximum efficiency without sacrificing aesthetic quality. The atelier is functionally divided into distinct zones—a spacious fitting room, a storage area, a pantry, circulation paths, and an existing bathroom—all harmonized within a single open layout. A custom-designed organic partition wall with flowing niches defines the space while offering display areas and storage, enhancing both visual dynamism and operational utility.

This partition, along with bespoke furnishings like the green marble worktable, built-in benches, and custom carpets, anchors the interior palette in natural textures and tactile warmth. These elements were designed exclusively for the atelier to ensure full integration between spatial identity and the brand’s creative ethos.

Material Palette and Lighting Design

A restrained neutral color palette, combined with golden metal accents, establishes a tone of understated sophistication. The dress racks are either suspended from the ceiling or anchored into ceramic-clad bases, providing unobtrusive display without disrupting the spatial circulation. These details subtly mirror the atelier’s branding language and fashion-forward appeal.

Above, a gypsum cove ceiling emits indirect ambient lighting, mimicking the softness of daylight and enhancing the space’s tranquility during evening hours. Strategic spotlights further punctuate focal points, ensuring visual clarity across all zones and supporting a comfortable retail experience.

A Tailored Experience for Fashion and Creativity

Every detail in the Isabela Pagnan Atelier was curated to evoke a calm yet creative atmosphere—an environment where functionality and design converge. The organic lines present throughout the project give a sense of motion and softness, reflecting the artisanal nature of the fashion work carried out within.

By embracing natural materials, fluid forms, and custom-crafted elements, the project transcends typical commercial interior design and becomes a spatial extension of the atelier's identity. This refined and cohesive approach makes it not just a store, but an intimate setting where fashion, light, and architecture come together.
