K-Home by Cadence Architects: A Contemporary Hilltop Residence in Krishnagiri
K-Home by Cadence Architects features a sculpted cubic facade, double-height living spaces, dynamic openings, and panoramic hill and city views.
Perched gracefully amidst the rolling hills of Krishnagiri, India, K-Home by Cadence Architects (2023) exemplifies a contemporary residential design that harmonizes urban living with nature. Spanning 6,175 ft², this modern home was envisioned by lead architects Smaran Mallesh, Narendra Pirgal, and Vikram Rajashekar, with photography by Ekansh Goel, capturing the home’s dynamic architectural language.

The K-Home facade immediately commands attention with its cubic form punctuated by strategically scooped-out openings. These pinched and pulled voids are not mere aesthetic gestures, they frame sweeping views of Krishnagiri’s cityscape and surrounding hills, transforming the building’s exterior in response to the observer’s perspective. This dialogue between structure and environment creates a constantly evolving visual experience, establishing a strong connection between the interior, the city, and the natural topography.

Inside, the home is defined by spatial openness and vertical connectivity. The ground-floor living room features a double-height volume, which seamlessly links multiple levels of the residence, enhancing natural light penetration and fostering a sense of fluidity. At the heart of this spatial choreography lies a sculpted staircase, serving as both a functional element and a striking design centerpiece, guiding movement through the home while accentuating its architectural narrative.

Each level of the residence carefully responds to its context. Large windows and framed openings in the facade not only optimize daylight but also choreograph views of the hills and urban environment beyond, allowing residents to experience an intimate relationship with the surrounding landscape. The interplay of solid and void, light and shadow, creates a dynamic, contemplative living environment that reflects Cadence Architects’ commitment to modern design and contextual sensitivity.

K-Home stands as a prime example of contemporary Indian residential architecture, where geometry, materiality, and site-specific design converge. Its innovative use of articulated openings, double-height interiors, and sculptural circulation paths elevates the home beyond mere habitation, making it a living experience that celebrates both architecture and nature.
