N16 House by Gruta Arquitetos: A Modern Corner-Site Residence in Brazil
N16 House by Gruta Arquitetos is a modern Brazilian residence featuring open spaces, natural materials, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Architectural Innovation in Bauru, Brazil
N16 House, designed by Gruta Arquitetos, is a striking example of contemporary residential architecture. Located on a 447m² corner lot in Bauru, Brazil, the home was conceived for a young couple seeking a spacious single-story residence with seamless indoor-outdoor living. The project, completed in 2023, spans 295m², integrating modern design principles with functional elegance.

Strategic Design for Optimized Space
The architectural layout was designed to maximize spatial efficiency while enhancing the site's natural advantages. The private and social areas were organized along a longitudinal axis, creating a fluid connection between the living spaces and outdoor areas. By placing the social and leisure areas on the left side, the home benefits from an open, unobstructed environment, capitalizing on its corner location.

Integrated Social and Leisure Spaces
To enhance the home's entertainment and relaxation potential, the kitchen and barbecue area were strategically positioned at the rear of the lot, aligned along a transversal axis. This layout fosters a seamless flow between the living areas and outdoor spaces, ideal for social gatherings and everyday comfort.

Adaptive Workspace with Elevated Views
With the rising demand for home offices, a significant design revision was introduced during the 2021 pandemic. The solution? A dedicated upper-floor office, offering a tranquil workspace with panoramic views while ensuring privacy from the social areas below. This feature highlights the project's adaptability to modern living needs.

Architectural Aesthetics and Material Selection
The exterior of N16 House was designed to create a bold yet harmonious presence in its surroundings. The primary volume, aligned with the garage, serves as a structural anchor, while the wooden-clad gallery and concrete block extensions introduce a sense of dynamic layering. The use of natural materials, including wood and exposed concrete, enhances the home's timeless aesthetic while complementing its modern minimalist design.

A Home that Tells a Story
With its sober finishes and thoughtfully curated interiors, N16 House serves as a canvas for the personal journeys and experiences of its owners. Every element—from the open-concept living spaces to the landscaped terraces—reflects a lifestyle that values travel, culture, and design innovation.
