The Pacaembu House, designed by Studio Arthur Casas, is a modern luxury residence in São Paulo that harmoniously blends sophisticated design, landscape integration, and wellness-focused amenities. Conceived as a social and family retreat, the house seamlessly accommodates entertaining and private living with a complete leisure infrastructure.

Strategically situated between two streets with a 7-meter topographical slope, the residence uses a combination of stairs and an elevator to connect its multi-level spaces. The design leverages the natural residential and wooded views, creating a home that feels intimate despite its impressive scale.

Architectural Design and Layout
Thoughtful Integration with the Landscape
The Pacaembu House remains discreet from the street, appearing unassuming despite its expansive area. Lush landscaping, reminiscent of a native forest, enhances privacy and reinforces a sense of connection to nature.
Functional Zoning Across Levels
- Ground Floor: Open-plan living and dining areas, fireplace, cigar lounge, and direct integration with the veranda and swimming pool.
- Lower Level: Gourmet kitchen, entertainment spaces, garden access, and a fish pond.
- Upper Level: Bedrooms, private suites, and intimate family areas.
The swimming pool features illuminated glass panels, revealing the spaces below, while a cyclopean concrete corridor, molded in loco with individually placed stones, connects to the gourmet area and garden, allowing natural light through strategically placed skylights.

Sustainable Features
The rooftop hosts solar panels alongside a green roof, reflecting a commitment to sustainable living and energy efficiency.

Materiality and Finishes
The house features a neutral palette with soft sand tones, complemented by wood and concrete combinations that create a warm, tactile environment.
- Cyclopean concrete: Molded on-site, combining natural stones to achieve precise pigmentation and texture.
- Wooden elements: Overhead doors with large overhangs ensure a visually balanced concrete façade.
- Lighting: Primarily indirect, with natural light emphasized through large cutouts and double-height spaces, producing dramatic light and shadow effects.
The interior embraces luxurious yet understated finishes, combining rustic stone and wood with accent materials like green and orange marble. Furniture incorporates natural linen, leather, suede, bouclé cotton, and wool, harmonizing with terracotta-toned stone and dark green highlights.

Furniture and Interior Design
The interiors showcase a curated mix of vintage and contemporary pieces, including:
- Vintage classics: Tonico armchairs by Sergio Rodrigues
- Contemporary designs by Arthur Casas: Fusca sofas, Copacabana sideboards, Tiles coffee tables, Pistão side tables, Jet Set armchair, Pan Am sofa, Max dining chairs, Grampo lamps, Lurdes desk, and custom bedside tables
This combination of custom furniture and iconic designs reflects the collaboration between the architects and clients, creating a unique, personalized home.
