Revolutionary Design Collaboration: Jonathan Tuckey Transforms Malin + Goetz into Canary Wharf Haven
Can a Design Partnership between Jonathan Tuckey and Malin + Goetz Redefine Canary Wharf's Aesthetic?

Jonathan Tuckey Design has unveiled their fourth collaboration with international skincare brand, Malin + Goetz, a retail concept inspired by the evolving streetscape and skyline of Canary Wharf. Customers are invited to explore a city of a skincare set on slender steelwork structures, inverting the monolithic stature of the towers outside the store to a more human scale. The urban grid of Canary Wharf is further reflected in the towers, composed of cubic stacked parallelepipeds with translucent white shelves that ascend to varying heights. Statement spot lighting creates a dark atmosphere, contrasting the lightness of the steel displays with heavier materials such as velvet curtains, marble, and matte polished concrete, evoking the sense of a metropolis at night. A solid marble basin marks a consultation area at the rear of the store, providing a tranquil space for customers to experience Malin + Goetz products. Jonathan Tuckey Design has completed three other retail experiences for Malin + Goetz across London in Islington, Seven Dials, and Spitalfields. Each store offers a unique interior, from timber cubic forms in Islington to a sleek layout of floating shelving in Seven Dials. The practice's work across each Malin + Goetz store emphasizes the role of an apothecary as a social connector, drawing design cues from the local neighbourhood to offer a retail experience that celebrates wellbeing through a local connection. This variety in design concepts is underpinned by Malin + Goetz and Jonathan Tuckey Design's shared belief in the importance and power of design.
