SENA FASHION CENTER
Marks a before and after in history, a fusion between the philosophy of architecture, fashion and sustainability, influencing the ideology of society and culture to transcend over time.
From the point of view of expression in a student position, it is intended to take the traditional perception of architecture to open the concept and the gaze of people to an infinity of possibilities to transform the ideology that we have of fashion today. Being architecture one of the 7 fine arts and with a philosophical and reflective background, the architectural phenomenon includes various aesthetic, ethical, metaphysical, epistemological, spatial and political aspects, it is exercised from a relationship between the context of the city, the environment urban and human evolution.
Architecture is versatile and always in motion, changing and constant, with a development from the conceptual point of view, to express and influence the perspective of those who observe it, so it seeks to take a current problem to transform the concept that one has fashionable, influences thinking with architecture and shows the other side of the fashion coin.
Concept: Earthrise collection by Iris van Herpen
She is a renowned Dutch fashion designer. Born in Amsterdam (Holland). His pieces are designed from a fusion between artisan sewing and high technology.
The purpose of being inspired by one of her dresses was due to her ideology of implementing ecological and sustainable materials. The material it uses is made from waste found in the sea, recycled by Parley for the Oceans.
We look for inspiration in his ideology for a sustainable design, changing the way of seeing haute couture and relating it to a concept of fluidity between water and air.
A design is contemplated that represents a deep interconnection that exists between human life and the environment.
In the architectural design conceptual and graphic values were contemplated, such as honesty in the work carried out, humanistic training, environmental commitment such as conservation and sustainability, creativity and innovation, and the strengthening of culture and identity.
Currently many fashion firms have taken a turn in terms of the presentation of their collections and have chosen to opt for more open spaces and even outdoors, that is why this project proposes outdoor spaces with the versatility of being used as catwalks. and settings for fashion shows, maintaining a relationship with the building due to its curved and organic lines at different levels that give more dynamism to the design.
SENA Fashion Center seeks to incorporate LEED aspects, which is a green building certification system, developed by the United States Green Building Council, to recognize the best practices and strategies for caring for the environment, the criteria considered are the following:
Location and transportation: Promote alternative transport such as bicycles or hybrid cars, focused on reducing the use of the common car and giving the user the option of having exclusive areas for these transports.
Sustainable sites: Avoid agents that impact within the external environment, such as avoiding sedimentation and erosion, generating habitat restoration, treating rainwater, among other strategies to generate sustainable building.
Water efficiency. We work on the optimal use of water, its treatment, capture, reuse, saving and its correct disposal, making use of rainwater, water treatment plants and pumps for reuse. It is kept in mirrors of water already being treated and overflows for the irrigation of green areas.
Energy and atmosphere: Seeks optimal use of energy, its source and how energy efficiency impacts the building.
Materials and resources: this project takes into account the origin of the materials in construction, giving priority to reused materials. In addition, it evaluates the way in which construction waste is managed.
Quality of interior environment: SENA Fashion center focuses on the well-being of building users through strategies that influence health and well-being, as well as actions that seek a renewal of indoor air through adequate ventilation, free of chemicals or tobacco smoke, in addition to ensuring an indoor environment with a comfortable temperature.
In the design it was sought to create relationships in its forms, an interrelation of spaces for users, to create a harmony in the architectural design.
Membership: Creating spaces within others that lead to multifunctional or single function areas creates a membership in them.
Intersection: it can be seen in versatile spaces such as the entrance area through wide corridors that lead to community or multipurpose areas.
Juxtaposition: The spaces touch each other in aspects of interior design and visual finishes.
Chaining: It is observed mainly in the central area between both buildings, a multifunctional and neutral area that leads from one space to the other.
