The creation of the set “Sena Fashion World”, represents the conception of architecture as a point of serenity, solidity and beauty of any work, starting from the stylistic expression expressed in the fashion industry, interacting discreetly in concepts widely recognized by the international artistic environment of fashion today. With this premise in mind, we start to develop plastically the generative idea about the architectural design of the construction of a new building Billancourt-Rives de Seine, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Expressing and representing in the appearance of the building what it tries to tell us about its focused until its final assembly, the building is part of the landscape. With the integration of the new building is achieved to reinforce cultural and artistic aspects that give identity to each region, as well as to deliver a new space merely adapted for the fashion industry that in this case is shown as the main community.

The land, with an irregular shape of 16.000 m2, its topography, the study of the natural environment and the current regulations, are the main factors that determine the way in which the general party of the project is developed. Looking for the best spatial solution, it is achieved to generate a friendly functionality for the general public, generating equally spectacular views from any point of reference within the set, raising views of the areas or public use towards the Seine River, in order to link de architecture of the landscape with the interior, supported by the presence of bodies of water surrounding the property, thus also achieving the conditions of sustainability required as a source of harmonization in any building.

We adapt the architectural ambition according to the required needs, where the architecture of the space can be too noisy of too quiet, depending on the fluidity and movement to the elements, this with the management of plastic and aesthetics of the building in general. Attending to spaces referenced by the presence of a greater number of users, whether for public or private use, such as the ramps of walkways and the management of green rooms, places in which greater movement of users is centered. Working with modesty the identity of each built environment, both in relation to the context and its purpose.

For the orientation of the building, we consider natural aspects such as the path of the sun calculating, the peak hours and how this will be presented in the different volumes and the course of the prevailing winds in this region, this to configure the spaces in a more adaptable way, to have the best management of natural resources according to their location. Mainly intervening good management of these, thanks to this we maintain an environmental balance inside and outside the building. Configuring each unique space with respect to its natural conditions of light, air and highly natural environment. These aspects provide a variety of panoramas achieved effectively by the management of natural resources, spaces such as green rooms have essential atmospheres to ensure that users and invited staff, enjoy quality spaces.

For the conceptualization of the architectural set was taken as a reference the silhouette of the woman’s body and a coat, which is very representative of haute couture fashion in Paris, besides being timeless, which never go out of fashion, and that’s something we wanted to achieve in our project, which adapts to any time in which it is, making set with the environment in which It is located.

The most remarkable aspect of the project has been a great challenge and it refers to the skin of the building. It is proposed a continuous and homogeneous surface that requires a very advanced structure system, managing and incredible plasticity and aesthetics on the outside and inside of the building. The structure combines a quadrangular steel grid system by means of a parallel alignment and interpenetration of the suspension arches, due to the cross interpenetration of this resistance against the loads of the same weight. The roof if formed by a concrete structure combined with a spatial structure, with which it is possible to replace large columns. With this space frame triangular shapes are intertwined and give the support to transmit the loads fiberglass (GRP), have 7 inches thick and each of them with 9 layers for complete impermeability, individually cut and installed one by one because each one will have a completely different shape from the other. Due to its mixture with fiberglass, this material can bend 3 times more than a conventional gypsum board.

In addition, the building is intended to be sustainable, so infiltration gardens are used: which is a system of absorption and filtering of rainwater. It consists of a depression or hole filled with different layers of filtering material (porous stones of different thicknesses), on top which a garden is planted. It also implements a system of energy through water turbines, this benefits us so what we can take advantage of a natural resource that gives us the land, which is the Seine River and thus generate de electricity needed to maintain the whole building.
