SKYSCRAPER OF LIFE

Humanity is constantly evolving. Along with this process comes a change in our needs and our expectations of the city. We are invariably looking for new solutions and conveniences that will make life more convenient.

The guiding principle of our project was to create a high-rise building that would keep up with the ever-changing world. We paid attention to the problem of vacancy, which is on the rise in large cities. There is a concentration of unused office buildings in Warsaw, which is colloquially known as "Mordor." Numerous office spaces have been replaced by modern high-rise buildings in the newly developed Daszyńskiego Roundabout. The main reason for the abandonment of office buildings in ,,Mordor", was the location, so people began to choose to work in the center of Warsaw, instead of on the outskirts. The buildings on ,,Mordor" were designed solely for office spaces, which, if not rented out, become environmentally unfriendly, and will eventually become ruins.

The answer to the problem of vacant land is our design of a high-rise building, and thus unnecessary urban development. We designed a core that can be clad with any number of modules. The simple form of the modules makes it possible to combine them with each other and modify their functions. The ability to change the function of the object allows for easy adaptation. At the same time, the object fits magnificently into the urban context. The open ground floor allows to connect the urban greenery of the Saxon Park and Swietokrzyski Park, while giving the impression that the building "levitates" acting towards the city and not disturbing its structure. The hollow core of the building allows for an even better representation of the idea that only the sky is the limit.

"High-rise of life" is the definition of architecture that is still alive and will serve people as the years go by. Moreover, it fits visually into the city's skyline, but also keeps up with the ever-changing world and creates a place that will never become deserted.
