THE GAP - Smart Public Space Integration
Smart Cities Need Smart Spaces – Bridging the Gap Between Technology & Public Life.
Revitalizing Public Spaces through Urban Architecture
Our city is evolving into a seamlessly connected urban machine, driven by 'smart city architecture' and high-efficiency technology. With mobile devices serving as the primary terminals of this vast urban network, public spaces are increasingly overlooked, becoming gaps in this digital landscape. The challenge now is to bridge this gap and reintegrate public spaces into the city's evolving ecosystem.

The Role of Smart Urban Architecture
By strategically embedding interactive public stations throughout the city, we can transform these underutilized spaces into dynamic, multi-functional hubs. These stations can serve as:
- Help stations for real-time assistance.
- Community interaction zones to encourage social engagement.
- Trade and exhibition spaces to promote local culture and commerce.

Creating The New City App - 'G THE GAP' System
This project " THE GAP City APP for the public" Developed by Wenpeng Bi and Yi Zhong, this concept was an Editor's Choice entry of Elevate 2019. The GAP system envisions:
- A network of modular public stations that can adapt based on user demand.
- Integration with mobile applications for accessibility and real-time information sharing.
- Data-driven urban renewal, ensuring that public spaces remain relevant and actively used.
By adopting this smart architecture approach, cities can reclaim their public spaces and ensure they evolve alongside the digital landscape.
