The Inside Home by Olgooco: A Harmonious Blend of Architecture and Nature
The Inside Home by Olgooco integrates underground spaces, privacy, and nature, creating a sustainable, immersive living experience in suburban Iran.
A Sustainable Approach to Suburban Living in Iran
The Inside Home, designed by Olgooco, reimagines suburban architecture by integrating nature and privacy within a unique underground residential concept. Located in Ammameh, Iran, this 335 m² residence responds to the challenges of unauthorized suburban development, economic pressures, and the transformation of garden spaces into urbanized apartment structures.

Rethinking Villa Typology for Privacy and Nature
One of the primary challenges in modern suburban developments in Iran is the increasing densification of residential plots, often compromising privacy, natural landscapes, and sustainable planning. The Inside Home directly addresses these concerns by embracing an earth-integrated architectural approach, preserving both natural topography and visual privacy while ensuring an immersive experience with the surrounding environment.

An Underground Living Experience
The residence consists of three separate underground spaces, each designed with a specific function:
- The first cave contains the bedrooms, offering a secluded and tranquil atmosphere.
- The second cave serves as the living and communal area, where residents experience seamless indoor-outdoor transitions.
- The third cave houses the pool and utility spaces, providing a natural retreat within the earth.
This design not only ensures thermal efficiency but also enhances spatial fluidity, allowing inhabitants to move through open courtyards and semi-covered walkways, experiencing light, shadow, and natural textures at every turn.

Blending Social and Private Spaces
The project strategically separates public and private zones to enhance social interaction while maintaining a sense of solitude. The main communal structure benefits from maximum light and panoramic views, while the bedroom section is more secluded, featuring minimal openings to emphasize privacy.
A wide porch and sunken courtyard open toward the landscape, offering uninterrupted views of the village and surrounding gardens. This design allows for an organic connection between built spaces and nature, fostering a unique residential experience that shifts with the changing seasons.

A Sustainable and Contextual Design
By embedding the residence into the land, The Inside Home not only preserves local ecology but also ensures energy efficiency through passive cooling and natural insulation. This project serves as a model for contemporary Iranian architecture, where cultural heritage, environmental consciousness, and modern living intersect.
